Arena Tiling were appointed as principle contractors by
North Cornwall District Council to undertake the complex project of the refurbishment
to the pool, the changing areas, toilet and shower cubicles, pool surrounds and
the restaurant and entrance area. Arena Tiling worked closely with Pilkingtons
to offer a specification to match the councils requirements.
The Pilkingtons pool tile range was used to refurbish the
pool area to include new fingergrip nosings, safety nosing tiles all backed up
with there ribbed tiles from this range. The pool surround was over tiled with 150x150
Dorset Wooliscroft Tetra finished tiles in quartz. These tiles continued into
the changing village where matching channel tiles were also used. The contract
also entailed the adjustment of drains and pool surround grating to ensure the
finished project had a smooth overlap of pool water into the height adjusted
grating.
The wall tiling element was full height to all toilets and
shower cubicles aswell as the newly constructed disabled changing room, the
tiles were a 200x200 Pilkingtons Matrix range tile in diamond white with a sky
blue contrasting border. The restaurant area was tiled with 300x300 Pilkington
Wooliscroft tiles offering a R10 non slip rating. The total amount of tiling on
the project was 750m2 and was received well by the local authority and
community members. |
