Arena Tiling were contracted to supply and fit 475m2 of
floor tiling to the main streets areas and three staircases of this new purpose
built Diabetes and MIDRU Unit at Heartlands Hospital, Birmingham.
The £8.5m project was a new state
of the art steel framed, two storey building with third storey plant room.
Externally clad with rain screen cladding and with external landscaping. This
project is designed with sustainability as a key driver and boasts ground
source heat pumps, solar panels and underfloor heating.
The project is registered as a West Midlands Demonstration Project by
Constructing Excellence.
The tiling element of the project
consisted on a white 450x450 floor tile with a titanium border tile 450x250 complete
with cut down skirtings. The tiling theme was carried out into the lobbies and
up three staircases located at various ends of the building. The tiling on the
project was received well by all involved and went without any snagging, which
is a remarkable achievement on such a complex and large area. |
