In total, the company fitted 2000m² of both internal and external wall and
floor tiling with tiles supplied from Domus. Arena Tiling utilised
adhesives and grouts from Mapei, and further adhesives and screeds
from Nicholls and Clarke. Trims were supplied by Genesis.
The installation featured an elipse-shaped tile feature, which lines up
the inside main doors to the outside main doors. To create this, Arena
Tiling cut the tiles using water-jet technology off-site.
Main contractor, that sub-contracted Arena Tiling, BAM, was
particularly pleased with the company’s work. Project manager for
BAM, David Hawkins, comments: "The service and quality from Arena
Tiling was exceptional on what was a very testing project and I will look
forward in working with Arena on my next project."
The university, too, was pleased with the work Arena Tiling carried out
– so much so, the company has been put forward to complete more
work. The company is currently working on five of the new construction
jobs at the university, at both its accommodation and academic
buildings.
With many successful installations under its belt, Arena Tiling is also
expanding. The company recently opened a regional office in
Newcastle to cover its work in the north of England and Scotland, and
an international office in Abu Dhabi, UAE, to better service its UAEbased
clients.
The UAE office is anticipated to further benefit Arena Tiling, which
recently completed work for the UAE Urban Planning Council two years
ago.
